For nearly 30 years, the Mexican Hass avocado trade has demonstrated how North American integration creates value for workers, businesses and consumers on both sides of the border. Today, a supply chain connecting more than 35,000 growers, over 90 packers and 200 importers delivers fresh, high-quality avocados year-round to meet America’s growing appetite, while generating economic activity across transportation, distribution, retail, foodservice and other industries.

The latest Texas A&M University economic analysis estimates that Mexican Hass avocado imports generated $7.1 billion in U.S. economic output, contributed $4.4 billion to U.S. GDP and supported more than 37,000 American jobs in fiscal year 2025/26. Together with a separate analysis of the industry’s contribution in Mexico, the findings point to more than $13 billion in combined economic output and approximately 115,000 jobs across the two countries. From Mexican orchards to American tables, this interconnected industry supports livelihoods, businesses and communities throughout North America.
